This season, Kilo Brava channels the gilded beauty and theatrical decadence of vintage showgirls, reimagined through a modern, intimate lens. Inspired by the artistry of early 20th-century burlesque performers and the elaborate world of backstage allure, this collection is a tribute to women who knew the power of costume, craft, and charisma.
From the cabarets of the Moulin Rouge to the velvet stages of Ziegfeld Follies, the muse behind Holiday 25/26 is part dancer, part dreamer — dressed in a symphony of shimmer, embroidery, and satin. Think gold foil floral embroidery glowing on sheer black mesh, multicolor threadwork that looks hand-painted, and deep green satin as rich as velvet curtains.
Influences range from the painterly style of Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec and his portraits of Parisian performers, to the high-drama costumes of Josephine Baker, to the ornate visual storytelling of vintage costume sketches from the 1940s and 50s. There’s a touch of Art Deco, a flicker of baroque detail, and the spirit of the stage woven into every piece.
